Advance Your Career With an MBA From UIW
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program develops in each student an understanding of how the elements and processes of business organizations relate to one another and to the external environment. Degree requirements are designed to develop proficiency and confidence in all functional areas of business with an emphasis on ethical considerations and to provide technical skills required for executive-level business positions.
The MBA program offers San Antonio professionals the opportunity to earn a graduate degree with convenient course offerings. Classes meet once a week and are available Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. Continuous enrollment is possible as courses are offered throughout the year. Students typically complete the program within two to three years.

MBA Degree Offerings
Graduates in the MBA program may elect to concentrate in Finance, Marketing, or Sport Management for a more specialized degree. The general MBA is an all-encompassing program for students who do not wish to specialize.
General MBA
The General MBA program at UIW is a comprehensive graduate degree that focuses on all functional areas of business. Students who enroll in the General MBA do not select an area of concentration.
To fulfill the requirements for the MBA degree program, the student must complete the following 30 hours of graduate coursework:
A. Core Courses (21 semester hours)
- MBA Cornerstone
- Managerial Accounting
- Managerial Economics
- Financial Management
- Managing People and Organizations
- Marketing Management
- Business Research and Quantitative Methods
B. Electives (6 semester hours, choose 2 courses)
Students may choose any two elective courses from the MBA curriculum that are not included in the core.
C. Capstone (3 semester hours)

Finance MBA
The MBA in Finance provides students with an understanding of the importance of money management in business and the impact of financial decisions. The concentration’s coursework is designed to encourage students to think critically, analytically, creatively, and globally. Also, the concentration’s coursework covers the most essential and diverse topics of finance, such as corporate finance, financial planning, and investments, among others.
To fulfill the requirements for the MBA in Finance, the student must complete the following 30 hours of graduate coursework:

Marketing MBA
The MBA in Marketing provides students with an understanding of the roles marketing plays in business and the effects marketing decisions have on business, individuals, and society. The concentration’s coursework is designed to encourage students to think conceptually, critically, analytically, creatively, socially, and globally. Students can focus their studies in such areas as brand management, digital media, international marketing, and services marketing.
To fulfill the requirements for this MBA degree program and Marketing concentration, students must complete the following 30 hours of graduate coursework:

Pursue an MBA in Sport Management
The MBA in Sport Management provides you with unique expertise to qualify you for upper-level executive positions in the sports industry and related fields. In addition, graduates of this program will be highly qualified for admission to Ph.D. programs in Sport Management.
To fulfill the requirements for the MBA degree program and Sport Management concentration, students must complete the following 33 hours of graduate coursework:
