We offer a range of research opportunities for students, including hands-on experience in leading edge fields. At Stevens, we have 15 research centers and labs working at the forefront of innovation in areas including resilience, sustainability, quantum engineering, biotechnology, cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, fintech, financial engineering and healthcare.
The Stevens student experience takes in much more than classroom time and research in the lab. Artificial Intelligence
Stevens develops artificial intelligence for societal good, while also studying and working to mitigate its potential drawbacks, through the interdisciplinary Stevens Institute for Artificial Intelligence (SIAI).

Powered by the Hanlon Financial Systems Center, a state-of-the-art financial research and teaching facility, Stevens' industry-collaborative research touches all aspects of business, fintech and the financial industry including regulation, investment, market stress-testing and prediction, leadership and labor economics.
Energy and Sustainability
Stevens develops sustainable solutions for the future of the planet, including new filter materials, smarter power grids, better batteries and renewable energy sources, and environmental sustainability planning.
Health and Medicine
Through our interdisciplinary Semcer Center for Healthcare Innovation (CHI), Stevens is working in key research areas toward the future benefit of patients worldwide.
Quantum Science and Engineering
Stevens explores the leading edges of quantum science, developing novel hardware, algorithmic systems and applications for computing, communication, security, privacy, finance, homeland security and more in the university's Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (CQSE).
