Introduction

The Department of Business Administration of Nanhua University was founded in 2000, and the Graduate Institute of Management was established at the same time. In 2002, we have the honor to receive the approval from the Minister of Education to originate from the Ph.D. program. In 2003 Graduate Institute of Management Science was reorganized and renamed from the Graduate Institute of Management. In 2007, the Department of Business Administration and the Graduate Institute of Management Science was integrated. There are three programs in it, including a bachelor’s program, a Master’s program, and a Ph.D. program.

Department of Business Administration provides multi-directional and high-quality management-related knowledge to specialize students qualified for the competitive business world. Through case discussion and Enterprise visit, we expect to train students’ ability of independent thinking and teamwork sprit. Based on the concepts of combining theory and practice together, we provide courses in marketing management, production management, human resource management, financial management, and information management.

Masters program

The Master's Program in Management is for MBA. The educational goals are to cultivate business management talents with abilities of communication, cooperation, and conscious learning. The course features: Research Methodology, Service Management, Management Science and Seminar on Operations are the compulsory courses, and Marketing Management, Business Ethics, Operations Management, Financial Management, Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, Managerial Economics, Management Accounting, and Applied Statistics are core courses which are listed as the threshold for graduation. For Managerial Economics, Management Accounting, and Applied Statistics, the students can obtain advanced credits by review of their university (college) transcripts or passing the examinations.

Optional courses are not divided into modules, including Decision Making, Statistic Method and Data Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Qualitative Research, Systematic Thinking, Market Analysis, Investment Analysis, HR Management, HR Development, Motivation and Leadership, Performance Management, Innovation, and Business Venture Management, Project Management, Knowledge Management, and Electronic Commerce, and the professors tutor optional courses according to their study fields.

Objectives

To improve the learning effect, provide diversified learning mode, participate in the actual working environment as early as possible, combine the theory with practice, cultivate students to become talents with professional knowledge and practical skills, formulate the Measures for the implementation of Off-Campus Internship of Students of Department of Business Administration, Nanhua University (hereinafter referred to as the Measures) in accordance with the Measures for Implementation of Off-Campus Internship of Students of Nanhua University.

Scope of implementation

The "off-campus internship" in the Measures includes the two types: workplace experience and workplace internship. The internship workplace is divided into a home internship and an overseas internship. The scope of the implementation is as follows:

  1. Workplace experience: arrange one-day or suitable travel to the workplace of the graduate, and the focus is on the field experience, followed by visit and internship. Arrange students to go to the workplace for experience and study to familiarize the workplace environment, and deepen the experience effect through communication and discussion.
  2. Workplace Internship: according to the main career planning, the compulsory (optional) internship courses with more than 2 credits must be offered, and the diversified promotion methods can be adopted such as winter and summer internship, semester internship, visit businesses for the seminar (research) and internship credits.

Internship hours

The students of the Department must attend the basic knowledge study of business practice once and 240 hours of off-campus internship.
