It was developed with extensive input from executives representing small, mid-sized, and Fortune 500 companies as well as leading academics and industry experts. The result is an innovative, fast-paced, practical, results-oriented learning experience designed to equip leaders to compete in the marketplace of the 21st century. EMBA Unique Features 15-Month Program & Convenient Schedule Unique Focus On Innovation & Growth Personalized, Hands-On Learning Limited Class Size & Strong Customer Service Strong Peer & Faculty Relationships International Study Trip Program Introduction The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program at The University of Toledo is designed with experienced executives and professionals in mind and is tailored to fit their busy schedules. Through the use of a structured, lock-step approach, participants are able to pursue an MBA with their peers at a level appropriate to their business experience. Each class of executives begins the program together, taking the same courses in the same sequence and sharing the same educational experiences. This structure encourages in-depth learning, teamwork techniques, and lasting friendships. The case method of study, problem-solving discussions, team presentations, individual study and assigned readings are all used to teach theory and develop practical skills. The program is completed in just 15 months. Classes for the EMBA Program are held on Friday evenings and all day Saturday for two weekends, followed by one weekend off. An international perspective on business is emphasized throughout the program. Participants take part in an international trip in the final class term as part of the Global Study Field Trip. During the seven to a ten-day trip, participants meet with business, finance and government leaders to achieve a greater understanding of global business. Previous groups have visited Germany, Scotland, Poland, England, and China (Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing). Lifelong Relationships Every fifteen months, a group of about 20 managers begins the program. They proceed through the program as a group, taking all of the same classes in the same order. During this time, participants learn from each other as well as from faculty, building relationships that will last beyond the duration of the program. The Work Group Experience Participants undertake team learning by taking part in work groups throughout the EMBA program. As in business, you need to communicate, negotiate and complete tasks as part of a team. Groups are comprised of participants from different companies and functional areas. Group members will learn to utilize each other's knowledge and experience to complete integrative team projects. Members share ideas, concepts, experience, and knowledge.
